Dear scumbag: You may be surprised that a “so called” judge can tell you you can’t do something, but as you were probably doing something nasty instead of showing up at your fifth grade civics class, I’ll remind you of the separation of powers.

The Judicial branch is SUPPOSED to tell you when you do something illegal.

The Kremlin said on Monday it wanted an apology from Fox News over what it said were “unacceptable” comments one of the channel’s presenters made about Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with U.S. counterpart Donald Trump.

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly described Putin as “a killer” in the interview with Trump as he tried to press the U.S. president to explain more fully why he respected his Russian counterpart. O’Reilly did not say who he thought Putin had killed.

It has just been revealed that Donald Trump takes a drug called Finasteride. This medicine was originally developed, and still widely used, for treating benign enlarged prostate conditions, but was then found to be effective in preventing hair loss, which is apparently why Trump takes it.

A couple of remarks about this. First, from the Washington Post:

“a recent study demonstrated changes in the levels of certain steroids in cerebrospinal fluid of men taking finasteride for hair loss. These steroids have been shown to influence brain function, and their presence may help explain the profound psychological changes such as depression and suicidality that have been associated with finasteride use.”

Russia’s escalating aggression in Ukraine has already exposed Donald Trump’s weakness in dealing with Vladimir Putin. On ABC’s This Week, host George Stephanopoulos pressed Vice President Mike Pence on the subject, contrasting the administration’s handling of Iran with the response to Russia, and getting Pence to offer some insight into the depth of Trump’s weakness with regard to Putin.

Pence tried to offer some lip service about being “troubled” by Russia’s actions in Ukraine, but he also revealed a conspicuous absence of concern from Trump:

So what was important enough to cause Trump to threaten our relationship with Australia? An agreement between the US and Australia where Australia would accept refugees from El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. In return, the US would resettle 1,250 refugees from Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan, but as even Trump’s press secretary points out, only after “extreme vetting” is applied to each one. But in yet another tweet, Trump called it a “dumb deal”.

Meanwhile, on another phone call, German Chancellor Angela Merkel had to explain to Trump the Geneva Convention, which requires the US to accept refugees from war-torn nations.

• Ben Shapiro is a former Breitbart editor who once apparently invented a fake terrorist group as well as a set of anonymous Senate sources to tell him about it, all in order to smear an Obama appointee. He was following a tradition of journalistic creativity pioneered by Breitbart’s founder, the late Andrew Breitbart.
   
  A conservative student group at Marquette University in Wisconsin is hosting a speech by Shapiro and students are peaceably assembling to protest. One University staffer suggested that students should accept free tickets and then not show up: a suggestion inconsistent with respect for the exercise of free speech.
   
  Conservative James Wigderson suggests that the conduct of campus protestors and the reaction of the University will test the University’s commitment to free speech.
   
  Being fair, James reports that the staffer has been reprimanded, but neglects to mention that fake terrorist incident or the stint as editor at Breitbart.
