From Julia Reinstein at BuzzFeed:
In celebration of the 4th of July, National Public Radio tweeted out the Declaration of Independence in a series of more than 100 tweets on Tuesday.
This follows an NPR tradition in which the text has been read aloud on Morning Edition every 4th of July for the past 29 years.
Lol. I find it unlikely that most Trump supporters would even have any association with NPR at all.
I applaud NPR for tweeting out the Declaration of Independence though.
If they really want to provide a public service, they should tweet out the United States Constitution to members of congress, starting with Nancy Pelosi, Paul Ryan, Chuck Schumer, and Mitch McConnell. It might actually be the first time some of them have ever read it. God knows that Pelosi and Maxine Waters should probably start a study group on the subject. It would be enlightening to them both, I am sure.
I’d imagine that’d be a whole lot my tweets.
I can’t imagine, though, how much kneejerk vitriol that would elicit. We saw how the Declaration had people pulling out their pitchforks…
