Who’s Carrying this Torch for the Old South?

From Vixen Strangely at Strangely Blogged:

I just want to throw this in here because if there is one thing I can not tolerate, it is lazy white people. You make the rest of us look bad. I can’t walk around here with my ginger locks and freckles when you grifting bottom-feeding “born this way” signifying white supremacist MF’s are carrying a Confederate torch and double-dog daring us to call you racist when you actively hero-worship Jeff Davis and them and support voter ID laws and other Jim Crow-era obviousness, and then act aggrieved when you get called out and try to snap the white race card. Boo hoo, reverse racism–how about trying to assimilate instead of hating? How about realizing you are just another passenger on the Spaceship Earth, okay? Act like you were born to succeed, supremacist, and maybe…

Well, maybe not all of you were born to succeed without white supremacy, but those are the breaks, right?

    1. Thank you, T. Paine.

Actually, making it harder for certain citizens to vote than other citizens may not be obviously racist, but it is apparently racist. It becomes obvious when there is clear evidence, in emails and other correspondence, that this is the actual intent, as courts have found in Texas and in North Carolina.

I suppose that, 50 years ago, we could have said, with equal sarcasm that “Making sure that only literate citizens vote in southern elections is obviously racist.”

    2. Quite an interesting conclusion offered by TP.

That must be the point of this piece that liberals cannot see, even the author, for without conservatives, we would be clueless about what we really think. We foolishly think white racists are conservative alt-right types. Ha. Nope. Only white liberals can be white racists.

Of course courts have adjudicated on the the targeting of minorities by White Republican politicians, but we now see that cannot possibly be racist in any way. I’m taught Democrats ARE (not WERE) the party of the Klan. Conservatives would never misinform, and they know history better than liberals. This is a well known conservative alternative fact.

In my liberal bubble, I thought this piece was actually about white racists, but thanks to conservative indoctrination we can conclude there is no such thing as white racists anymore. After all, Obama won twice and that means racism is only from blacks and other minorities now.

I’m well on my way to thinking like a good conservative now, am I not?

  1. In the few cases where polls are not operating at the same hours as every polling location in the state or the locations are intentionally sparse for a given area, then I think those responsible for the polling locations should be held accountable legally EVERY TIME.

That said, ensuring that a person is a citizen when voting should be a requirement for each and every voter. After all, you never know when some Russian national might be wanting to illegally vote to throw the contest towards Trump’s re-election.
