Great post about the Libertarian Party and it’s presidential candidate, Gary Johnson. Best line is, “[Libertarianism is] all about selling Americans a radical right-wing, anti-government agenda.” And that’s exactly right.
I once was in a Twitter convo with an avowed Libertarian. Since he didn’t believe in taxation (which is a typical Libertarian position), I asked him how we would pay for road repairs. He said that neighborhoods would arrange their own block parties to raise money to fix the roads. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at his response. He was dead serious. I thought, perhaps, I was communicating with a small child. Who knows?
