Why Impeach, WH Threats, Polls, Military Tantrum, Trump and Cool Cats
What is the point of a fixed trial in which the outcome is predetermined? The hope of a different outcome? A mark in history? nojo suggests there is a point. It isn’t hope and it isn’t history.
Green Eagle has his own criticism of high military leadership as he gets thoughtful and eloquent in response to my President’s dopes and babies tantrum.
Infidel753 is a bit impatient with she who really ought to be President as Hillary contributes to the possible shattering of Democratic unity, attacking Bernie for shattering Democratic unity four years ago.
News Corpse is comically accurate in panning the non-coverage of impeachment proceedings by Fox News. Move along, nothing to see. We’re just protecting you from all that boring stuff. Of special note: one Fox News personality is strangely absent from any and all broadcasting. Outspoken Trump critic, Fox’s Senior Judicial Analyst, Andrew Napolitano. Vanished banished.
Cato Institute’s senior fellow Julian Sanchez takes a look at the Pensacola Naval Base shooting. The FBI wants to unlock the I‑phone of the suspect, presumably to find out if there is some sort of terrorist conspiracy at work. Sanchez explores the question of whether the FBI should ever be able to access the locked phone of an accused criminal. Listen to the NPR interview.
Vagabond Scholar takes us back to New York’s Riverside Church in the Vietnam era as Martin Luther King talks about war as well as its connection with poverty. Batocchio writes with grace. My only criticism is that I wish he would write more often.
This is just small town politics, but with a bit of ironic legal maneuvering. Wisconsin conservative James Wigderson has some indignant fun with a Democratic primary. A candidate who failed to get enough signatures for County Executive goes to court over it. One reason he should be on the ballot, despite the legal lack of signatures, is that the attorney who filed to get him off the ballot is conflicted. Seems that 14 years ago he did some legal work for a previous campaign by that same candidate. Best part for me is the near eloquent near rant by James Wigderson.
The Journal of Improbable Research finds a study by scholars at Cornell University showing that positions of leadership are more likely to be filled by those who weigh more. Well, I qualify as someone who is taller than most when I’m lying on my back. Maybe I should run for something.
