  1. Bovine Excrement. 9% of the 1.9 TRILLION dollar Covid bill is actually going to fight or help with Covid related issues. The rest is to bail out irresponsible state governments and fulfill leftist wish lists.

      1. Still kind of interested in your response, Darrell. I know distracting yourself with an argument with Dave is appealing, but I’m really curious to know if you actually know what the hell you’re talking about here or if you’re just getting your information solely from partisan tweets by freshmen congresswomen and the pundits who expand on her words?

        1. Trey,
Good luck in getting a cogent response from Darrell. I’m still waiting for him to show me evidence the election was stolen for Biden.

I listed the various beneficiaries of the covid aid bill. He wants to believe only 9% of the relief is for covid related issues. Obviously he is wrong. It’s almost entirely covid related. In his world, any aid to those he deems unworthy is on the”leftist wish list”. It is evil socialism. As I noted, “Coddle the rich and punish the poor” is the foundation of modern American conservatism. Punishing Democrats along with state and local governments is also high on their list. They don’t care if people are laid off and important services are withheld. As long as it doesn’t affect them, or even if it does, as long as the “unworthy” don’t get help.

Some old adages come to mind:

While Liberals are afraid that somewhere, someone is not getting what they need, conservatives are afraid that somewhere, someone is getting something they don’t deserve.

          And of course:

“Conservatism is the dread fear that somewhere, somehow, someone you think is your inferior is being treated as an equal.”

    1. Coddle the rich and punish the poor. This is basically modern American conservatism. Very “Christian” of them. We can afford nearly $2 trillion in tax cuts for the worthy wealthy, but to hell with everybody else. I mean, what is government for anyway, the PEOPLE? Come on, man.

Anything apart from tax cuts for the rich and their corporations is on their evil “leftist wish list”.

This is the wisdom of a good conservative, who declared the election was stolen and masks are “silly” in a pandemic. Why shouldn’t we trust his thoughtful conclusions?

To hell with relief checks, to hell with the unemployed, to hell with funds for opening schools, to hell with farmers and small businesses, to hell with restaurants and bars, to hell with veterans, to hell with FEMA disaster relief, to hell with renters and homeowners, to hell with tax credits, aid and child care for families, to hell with aid to state and local governments and their services, AND to hell with vaccines and health care!

Thank God for “compassionate conservatism”. Their conscience overflows in heartwarming abundance, as their selfless concerns radiate the spirit of human benevolence; but only for the worthy. After all, it’s what Jesus wants. That, and more tax cuts for the rich.

(The last few statements were pure bovine excrement. )

  2. Burr, I apologize for all of my foolishness before. David Dubya with his compassion and searing logic has finally convinced me to drop my “authoritarian and racist ways” and to stop being an “enemy of democracy”.

That said, nobody can feed a family of four on $15/hour. Lets make minimum wage $45K a year for everybody as a guaranteed income, whether they want to work or not. THAT is true compassion.

Of course that will kill most mom and pop businesses, but as long as we have Amazon and other giant corporations that donate to leftist causes, who cares?

Next, lets knock down all border walls and let everybody in, even if they have Covid19. Oh wait we are already doing that. Never mind! Good job Joe!

We can continue by just automatically making every white person enroll in anti-racist classes so they can see what inherently racist attitudes they have in their very DNA. We should make this a provision for allowing them to vote.

Anyone that owns a weapon should just give it back to Uncle Joe since we will all be peacefully unified under his brilliant leadership. Mandatory buy back plans should be implemented right away.

I am going to go sell my truck and buy a Prius to help the environment too. I hope the windmills will be able to generate enough electricity to power it, but it is worth it in the long run.

I’ve already purged all Dr. Seuss books from my grand kids bedrooms. In my defense, I didn’t know the Obamas were closet racists that endorsed Dr. Seuss in the past.

Yep, and that bill to ensconce Democrats in office… that “for the swamp”…. errrr… for the people bill, we should implement every bit of that and the hell with the antiquated constitution. After all it was written by racist, homophobic, sexist white guys.

Yep, thanks Dave for your relentless pursuit of the truth. I have now seen the light!

Now, if you’ll pardon me I need to run to the store for some Kool Aide.

  3. The CDC has admitted face masks do little to prevent the spread of COVID-19 amid mounting pressure to lift mask mandates across the U.S. In a new study, the CDC found face masks had a negligible impact on coronavirus numbers that didn’t exceed statistical margins of error.

The study found that between March and December 2020, face mask orders reduced infection rates by 1.5 percent over the rolling periods of two months each. The masks were 0.5 percent effective in the first 20 days of the mandates and less than 2 percent effective after 100 days.

Hmmm… I still think Dave was right and I was “silly”.

    1. So why not link to the study?

      Crickets…

I’m reminded of this insight into the radical Right mentality. Substitute “Trump supporter” for “anti-Semite” and the statement applies to modern American conservatives. Yes, there is indeed an overlap of anti-Semites and Trump supporters.

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

      ― Jean-Paul Sartre

“If the Jew did not exist, the anti-Semite would invent him.”

Today’s version would be “If the leftist did not exist, the radical Right would invent him.”

  4. I’m enjoying how conservatives have embraced Festivus throughout the year so they may continue airing their resentments without interruption.

The source of their resentments, of course, is found in the US Constitution. Taxes, regulation of commerce, provision for the general welfare, and elections cause them insufferable pain and grief.

This is why they need to constantly remind us thick-headed leftists that white conservatives have always been the real victims. We just don’t get it. Do we think it’s easy for them to get by with a greater share of representation in the Senate than most of the rest of us have? Come on, man. They’re much more special and entitled than that. In fact, only the white conservative minority should run the country. I think that’s in their Constitution. It’s what the founders’s wanted.

But I digress. I should respect the authority of our resident epidemiologist and expert on infection control. When an unnamed conservative source informs him the CDC has reversed their recommendations for wearing masks, we should accept the conservative authority on the matter.

We should pay no attention to what the CDC says, just what conservatives SAY the CDC says. Got it? This is probably not getting through the thick skulls of leftists. They’re hopeless.

Leftists are so dumb they take the word of the CDC OVER the word of an unnamed conservative’s opinion.

    How silly is that?

Darrell would never be so silly to listen to these fake experts and impostors:

    Guidance for Wearing Masks
Help Slow the Spread of COVID-19
    Updated Feb. 18, 2021

And this nonsense totally disrespects the authority of a completely unbiased and scientifically correct unnamed conservative source.

Association of State-Issued Mask Mandates and Allowing On-Premises Restaurant Dining with County-Level COVID-19 Case and Death Growth Rates — United States, March 1–December 31, 2020
    March 5, 2021

    Summary

What is already known about this topic?
Universal masking and avoiding nonessential indoor spaces are recommended to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

What is added by this report?
Mandating masks was associated with a decrease in daily COVID-19 case and death growth rates within 20 days of implementation. Allowing on-premises restaurant dining was associated with an increase in daily COVID-19 case growth rates 41–100 days after implementation and an increase in daily death growth rates 61–100 days after implementation.

What are the implications for public health practice?
Mask mandates and restricting any on-premises dining at restaurants can help limit community transmission of COVID-19 and reduce case and death growth rates. These findings can inform public policies to reduce community spread of COVID-19.

    Deep state! Swamp! Hoax! Sad!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go dig a hole in the woods to hide my guns, Dr. Seuss books, and potato head toys. The leftists are coming.

Be afraid. Be very afraid. But don’t worry about covid. You don’t need to wear those silly masks.

Trump didn’t need one. Rudy Giuliani didn’t need one. Chris Christie didn’t need one. Herman Cain didn’t need one.

Stupid leftists think they can fool me. HA.
