- Impersonation hell! tengrain at Mock Paper Scissors discovers that Jamie Foxx IS Donald Trump!
- Iron Knee at Political Irony has a thought about Mr. Trump’s level of concern for the security of hyper-secret classified documents.
Should we, maybe, keep them from our enemies?

- Vixen Strangely at Strangely Blogged looks at various Trump criminalities and has a modest proposal.

Would witnesses be put in danger?
Would the direction of an investigation still in progress encourage persons-of-interest to coordinate falsehoods?
Noted historian Heather Cox Richardson takes a look at the heavily redacted affidavit. Lots was hidden, protected from view. So the only thing left was… Sweet Baby Jesus!!Trump did WHAT?!!.

- Meanwhile, News Corpse watches the screen as the Fox Network devotes itself to its frantic struggle to exonerate Trump.
- In The New York Times, conservative Rich Lowry writes about liberal hypocrisy: Can You Tell Me What Would Happen if the F.B.I. Were Investigating a Democrat?.
driftglass bludgeons Lowry with history: Gosh! If only we had one or two examples where that really happened!
- Wisconsin conservative James Wigderson is not excited by Mr Trump’s innocence proclamation:
Everybody sing! You, in the back! You remember the 80s. "Like a Virgin. Corrupt for the very first time. Like a vir-ir-ir-gin. Innocent, as can be." https://t.co/317bb8kDVp

- Julian Sanchez does not hold Mr. Trump’s latest defense in high esteem.
As I said last week, at this point Trump’s *defense* is to claim he did something so insanely irresponsible it would itself be a massive scandal. https://t.co/qAS3qs42MT

Well, except the courts have to buy his horseshit, and federal judges are, on average, brighter than Fox viewers.

- So Donald Trump demands the release of the affidavit on which the search warrant was based. That would be the search warrant of Donald Trump. That would be THE Donald Trump. He knows the DOJ won’t do it because they don’t want to dox witnesses who gave information to the FBI, and don’t want to let witnesses know what lies to play. Then DOJ releases a redacted version.
The Palmer Report provides a meltdown chronicle as Donald Trump goes frantic-bizarro berserk in response.
- Tommy Christopher relates the amazement of political professionals. Trump Team leaks out a letter they just know will help Trump and hurt Biden. Everyone and his brother is amazed. How could Trump-folk believe that could help?
- They warned us, didn’t they?
Any attempt to bring the law to Donald Trump would bring on Civil War. And the 2nd Amendment has provided the weaponry.
The search at Mar-a-Lago crossed the line.
Green Eagle goes to the battle site of the first battle in Knox County, Ohio and reports on the result that the insurrectionists did not expect.
- M. Bouffant at Web of Evil is unimpressed with Republican candidates, enraged as they are about law enforcement applied to hyper-secret classified documents stolen by Mr Trump, who talk bravely about committing deadly violence against FBI agents.
- CalicoJack in The Psy of Life considers the tenuous relationship between contemporary conservatism and truth.
- Frances Langum sees a moderate, which is to say non-extremist, Republican become a Democrat. There is a message for others of that vanishing breed. The shrinking Republican Party is not a good home for you.
- Andy Borowitz reports from inside Republican conclaves where strategists worry that midterm voters may come to believe women deserve rights.
- I was born in upper NY State. I spent my long, long ago youth there. And I have chuckled at folks who imagine all New Yorkers to be urban sophisticates.
Most of New York’s geography is rural farmland. Upstate NY does have cities, to be sure. Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo and more. Most of Farmville is of a different politic.
While other parts of the country are divided between conservative Republican and liberal Democrat, the NY I knew as a kid was also on a spectrum, with the most extreme of extreme conservatives at one end and, at the other, out-and-out moonhowlers.
The 19th Congressional District in NY is considered a bellweather. It is mostly rural with just enough of Albany to the north and NY City to the south to even it out.
The 19th went with Bush, then Obama (twice), then Trump, then Biden. As NY19 goes, so goes the universe. The US usually gets hit with two midterm traditions: going a bit red and going against whoever is in the White House. Special elections are more red than most.
A special election, just before midterms, with a Biden White House meant a red trifecta election.
Of course it was no surprise, NY19 going Republican this week. Everyone knew in advance. The big question was by how much. Everyone watched to see the size of the Republican margin.
In Hackwhackers Democrat Pat Ryan, who stunned everyone by actually winning, is interviewed: How the hell did he manage THAT??.
And how can Democrats replicate his victory everywhere else in November?
- Ted McLaughlin at jobsanger kind of likes that Biden has taken off the gloves and is going all bare knuckles on MAGA Republicans.

- North Carolina pastor John Pavlovitz suggests that the toxic MAGA version of masculinity inflicts very real collateral damage on our children.
- Libertarian Michael A. LaFerrara encounters a conspiracy theory that happens to contradict libertarianism: That a conspiracy of big pharma has thwarted discovery of a cancer cure:
And, for once, Mr. LaFerrara disposes of something cr-cr-craaaazy! and comes out on the side of the angels. Row that boat ashore, Michael!

- Our favorite Earth-Bound Misfit says MAGA Christians are targeting what I suppose can be called ChrINOs, Christians In Name Only: which is to say those of us who do not join God and Jesus in hating the requisite groups.
Gays, Muslims, Obama. Now Biden, of course. You know: The ones Jesus condemns. (Oh, wait. Wrong reference – that was woke scripture. We don’t do that anymore.)
- Nan’s Notebook considers a connotation. “Atheist” is a pejorative in religious circles.
- Infidel753 takes a look at a common error atheists make while arguing with Christians:
Why can’t other “Gods” of the past be just as real?
and
a factual assumption we Christians too easily make:
atheists don’t know enough about the Bible to reject it.
- In The Life and Times of Bruce Gerencser, Bruce provides insight into what hymns Fundamentalists listen to when making love.
