Introduction, Traditional Service,

We are not alone.
We share a bond,
we share each other,
we share a spiritual journey
with every child of God.

Even in days of slavery,
voices on the Sea Islands off the coast
of Georgia and South Carolina,
sang a song of spiritual invitation.
The words meant: “Come By Here.”

Those voices invite us now
to share with them,
to share with each other,
to share with all humanity,
that journey
and that God.
