We break bread together
because we hold in common a shared faith.
We share a recognition of human worth
more basic than human actions or words.
We share a commitment to each other
and to every member of the human family.
We break bread together in prayer,
we praise God together in service,
we greet a new dawn together on our knees:
Most of all, more than anything else,
because we love the one who shows us
each child of God is worth dying for,
and every life is worth living.
