When we stumble,
when we fall captive to our own desires,
the longing in the human soul
the emptiness in the human heart
can become substitutes for God.
We pray for the miracle of change.
We want to worship God with our lives.
But we have already been freed from captivity.
We only need to walk out of our prison
and into the bright sunshine of life.
The hunger and thirst inside us
can lead to a journey of healing
back to our God,
back to our home.
