Burr,
Thank you for presenting this great piece of truth and common sense. To all reasonable persons, let this serve as a powerful antidote to austerity measures being steadily foisted on us by economic conservatives!

Absolutely! Your posting has convinced me. If we could only do a $2 Trillion stimulus now, maybe we could save the economy. Okay, back to reality now.

The problem is that a huge part of that stimulus money that went to the states simply shored up their woefully inadequate and mismanaged budgets and didn't really do anything but allow them to meet current state expenditures. Your should-have-been-a-jobs-program really wasn't much of one. Even our Dear Leader Obama belatedly admitted that there really weren't any shovel ready jobs after all. You see, the problem with government trying to create jobs through taxpayer dollars is that when the government no longer spends that money, the jobs more often than not go away too.

T. Paine,

You are completing ignoring the evidence, you Republican. Did you not see that there is a chart? Only a chart can rebut a chart. No wonder they say republicans ignore facts.

Mr. Deming,

I have been too busy to give you the fair treatment you deserve, but I have not forgotten about you.
