Amazing Grace - Introduction
By For Your Consideration on Aug 7, 2011 | In Religion | 2 feedbacks »
Every child of God has an inner value
that cannot be touched,
not even by the evil that we do.
When we listen, respectfully, quietly,
to the hopes, and dreams, and doubts
of someone on a quest of the spirit,
we sometimes join in a healing of the soul.
John Newton made his living hunting
and buying Africans for a life in slavery.
And yet he became a Christian abolitionist.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound.
His hymn came from humility that
God's grace could save a life from such evil.
He was a soul in torment, and someone listened.
