Hillary Said ... What?

Using terms that shocked opponents and stunned supporters, Senator Hillary Clinton today said ...
It seems that a story is published so often that begins with something like that, it is no longer surprising. A question of dictionary meaning arises. Is it possible to be shocked and stunned so repetitively that it is not surprising?
Just recently Senator Clinton revealed a horrible strategy for becoming President. She would rely on white power: hard working people, which she defines as white folks, on whom she can count never to vote for Obama.
Now she offers a new hope. She may yet become President, because assassinations do happen. And June might be just the right month.
I had nightmares through my teenage years about the murder of President Kennedy. I was crushed five years later by the killings of Martin Luther King and Senator Robert Kennedy. The Republic experienced these events as nightmares that affect our nation still.
Hillary Clinton has been a remarkable Senator, working tirelessly for her constituents, forging unlikely alliances in the Senate. And folks do misspeak.
And yet, and yet... similar words have found their way into print, attributed to Senator Clinton, as recently as March. And she has said something akin to them on the campaign trail at least twice.
This time, she apologized … sort of. The apology was for accidentally bruising the feelings of the overly delicate who misinterpreted her clear meaning. Yup. She is sorry for our deficient understanding of her intent.
I have been telling friends that I like Senator Clinton and admire President Clinton. I have expressed my support for Hillary Clinton remaining as long as she wants as Senator from New York. And I have said I would very much like somehow to cast my vote for Bill Clinton to remain forever as Maniacal Stage Mother from Hell. But, at this moment, I wish the whole ongoing show would just quietly close down.
Rumors abound that she might want to become Vice President. She does seem suited to the role, waiting for someone to die.
Your turn.
