The 75th commemoration of the Japanese attacks on Pear Harbor and other U.S. military facilities on Oahu, Hawaii, is promising to be a very special one.

First and foremost, it is an opportunity to once again remember and honor the courage of those who served and sacrificed on December 7, 1941.

More than 2,300 soldiers, sailors and Marines died in the attacks (68 civilian also lost their lives) and 1,178 military and civilians were wounded.

But the ceremonies will also be honoring the survivors, many of them well into their 90s and a few more than a century young.

OWS participants are annoying and scaring everyone from formerly unconcerned stock traders who “don’t know what everybody’s so mad about,” to minimum-wage janitors who work at corporate banks and wish that the great unwashed sitting at Zuccotti Park would just all go get a job and take a bath.

Even the cops’ frustrations are hitting an existential boiling point as they aggressively defend the dignity and peace of mind of a transnational financial community that has no empathy and less in common with their own way of life than people in their own economic strata, like those girls they are cowardly pepper spraying on occasion.

President-elect Donald Trump’s “thank you” tour kicked off in Cincinnati on Thursday, broadcast live by news networks who appear determined to learn nothing from the 2016 election. Once again, viewers got to hear Trump telling lies about issues like his deal with Carrier, free of any filter providing analysis, context, or fact-checking.

The mere existence of a Trump “thank you” tour is disturbing, and during its inaugural rally, there was no shortage of other disturbing things, like the return of “lock her up” chants, some of which received critical coverage in the national media.

What you regrettably will not be hearing much about, though, is Trump’s continued use of a phrase that has an established and undisputed anti-Semitic history:

Fidel Castro has left this mortal plane at the age of 90. Many of us either rejoiced his death or shook our heads at the passing of a steadfast man of principle. To many (stateside), he was viewed as a tyrant. To many that are anti-imperialism, he was an inspiration. The problem is that there are very few that fall in between when it comes to Fidel.

Fidel Castro is practically the real-world Dr. Doom. Yes, he worked hard to do right by the people that were with him. However, anyone that went against him felt his wrath like none other. Just like Victor Von, Castro wanted adjunct loyalty. Nothing else was to be tolerated.

However, many black people have a special adoration for the man that many white politicians find to be repulsive. And there are quite a few reasons why.

No doubt, he was a tyrant and a liar, a man who tortured people for the crime of speaking their minds.

This website is dedicated to “political irony”, including humor. So you might think that the election of Donald Trump would make it easy to find good stories. But it isn’t turning out that way.

For example, it is hardly ironic, and certainly not humorous, that Trump is filling his cabinet with the same alligators he promised to drain out of the DC swamp, or that he has already reversed his position on pretty much every one of his campaign promises.

But isn’t that jumping the gun?
