How to Real Estate, Kenosha, Inspiring Kids, Insult the Troops, Trump Jaws

  • I missed this a couple months back. My president was at a roundtable talk with religious leaders about police reform. He went into a sort of trance-like ramble about weather emergencies, the pandemic, and the price of oil. When he got to healthcare he diverted into a bewildering riff on how lowering health care cost is just like real estate: thus presenting the wonderful Sarah Cooper with a great opportunity to explain how to real estate.

  • At The Onion, a conspiracy theorist is worried his credibility will be undermined by Trump retweeting him.

  • In Hackwhackers, the candidates’ visits to Kenosha are contrasted.

  • In Scotties Toy Box, the inspiration to young people by President Trump is compared to the inspiration provided by President Obama.

  • The Moderate Voice reviews the Lincoln Project television ad that threw Trump into a twitter rage. Kind of got under the ole epiderm.

  • driftglass re-imagines the movie Jaws and discovers that the entire plot is different when the mayor is Donald Trump.

  • Vixen Strangely, at Strangely Blogged, reviews my president’s remarks about those who died or were maimed or who suffered as prisoners of war in America’s armed forces. She recalls Trump hugging our national flag and his swearing a patriotic oath to protect our nation. She suggests that his is the kind of patriotism patriots should despise.

  • Our favorite Earth-Bound Misfit reviews the denials. The Atlantic quotes my president mocking those who wear the uniform. He angrily insists he didn’t say it. It is confirmed by The New York Times. Fake news. Associated Press finds confirms the quotes in separate sources. Another denial. And now more sources confirm with the national security correspondent for Fox News? Fox News?

The latest WH spin is that, by calling dead soldiers suckers, my president was only wondering, in a sort of grateful awe, how anyone could be so heroic.

Strikes me as kind of a stretch.

Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’

Waving from Arlington National Cemetery a few days before Memorial Day, May 23, 2019 Image from Voice of America

On canceling a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery:

“Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.”

Donald Trump, November 10, 2018

From The Atlantic:

In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.

Why Is Georgia GOP Sending Absentee Ballot Applications To New Jersey?

found online by Raymond

GOP Ethic: Any Means Necessary Image from: Frances Langum

From Frances Langum:

An update to our story from Pennsylvania. State GOPs are sending absentee ballot applications to people who never lived in their state. It smells very fishy

On August 25, I wrote here about a mailer my father received in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The mailing was from the New Hampshire Republican Party, and contained an application for absentee ballot from New Hampshire. My father has never lived in New Hampshire.

A New Hampshire reporter followed up on the mailer and the Attorney General of New Hampshire issued a cease and desist to the New Hampshire GOP to stop these mailings.

Turns out the same mailing is being sent out of state in Georgia.

Trump Urges Voters to Vote Twice

found online by Raymond

Trump: Vote Twice

From Fox13, WECT-TV, Wilmington, NC:

In North Carolina, Trump urges voters to vote twice in November

Hours after once again denouncing states which are mailing ballots to all active registered voters for November, President Donald Trump on Wednesday urged his supporters to not only vote by mail or by absentee ballot, but also then to show up to the polls on Election Day to vote a second time, which theoretically could put voters in legal jeopardy.

“Double voting is easily detectable and people have been prosecuted for it,” said Michael McDonald, a University of Florida professor who focuses on elections.

Some election experts said the President himself broke the law by suggesting people should vote both by mail and in person.

January — Back to Normal

found online by Raymond

We now return you to your normal nation

From Infidel753:

…the future that can be ours — if…

We’ve gotten so used to Trump’s petulant tantrums, his lying, his self-absorption, his toddler-level name-calling, that we’ve almost forgotten what normal was like.

I had barely heard of Donald Trump before he started running for president, and will be more than happy, come January 21, to never hear of him or need to think about him again. His 70-year-old spoiled-brat routine got old really fast, but it was never possible to ignore him due to the immense powers of the office he scammed his way into but never really understood or cared about.

Biden will not spend hours on Twitter whining about poll numbers or people saying mean things about him on TV. He won’t hand-wave away difficult problems by saying they’re about to magically disappear. He won’t withhold emergency aid from states that didn’t vote for him. He won’t sideline experts in favor of a string of scammers and phonies who tell him what he wants to hear. He won’t swoon over murderous foreign dictators like some teenage groupie in heat, nor pick stupid fights with leaders of other democracies. He’ll listen to experts and think seriously about decisions. He’s a functional adult and will do the job he was elected to do.

And it’s not only Trump.

Fox & Friends Giggle as Biden Speaks Without a Crowd During Pandemic

found online by Raymond

From Tommy Christopher:

Fox & Friends Laugh Out Loud at Joe Biden For Campaigning Without a Crowd During Raging Pandemic

The hosts of Fox & Friends had a hearty laugh at former Vice President Joe Biden for delivering a speech while taking precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

On Tuesday morning’s edition of the Fox News morning show, the crew discussed the ex-veep’s Monday speech in Pittsburgh, during which he condemned violence surrounding protests and lambasted President Donald Trump for trying to “scare America.”

With a smirk, co-host Pete Hegseth asked to see a photograph from the event, and cracked “There was no one around him yesterday. Does it do count going to a campaign trail go to empty warehouse surrounded by circles, no one there, and you read off of a teleprompter for 23 minutes and take no questions?”

A Nation Of Karens

found online by Raymond

Planet Fitness Karen

From The Propaganda Professor:

This is not the first time this particular individual has defied mask policy at a place of business. She previously filmed herself defending her “freedom of liberty” to infect people at a store and at the DMV. In each case, she not only made a video of herself being a menacing nuisance, she posted the video online. She’s damn proud of making an ass of herself in public.

In the old days, we used to just confer upon such individuals the formal label asshole. Nowadays, since so many of them are female, they’re often called Karens. A Karen is an entitled white female who believes that the world revolves around her, and that, while she doesn’t have to follow anyone else’ rules, everyone else should have to live by, or at least suffer the consequences of, her preferences.

There was a time when you could watch a video like this (assuming you had the fortitude to sit through it) and breathe a sigh of relief that she’s only one person. But these days, there is an army of Karens out there. As you’ve probably realized, men can be Karens too. (They’re often referred to as Kens.)

What is the most annoying/ disturbing thing about the behavior of these people? Is it their spoiled brat attitude? Is it the way they pride themselves on their ignorance? Is it the way they waste other people’s time and good will — such as arguing with the staff of a business about the business’s own policies? Is it the demand that everyone make an exception for them?

There are actually three major problems with the Karen Culture.

Another Violation of My Rights

Taking a Stand for MAGA Freedom

It was an emotional championship triumph. And I was tired of dumb league regulations designed to VIOLATE our CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOMS. The same tired old bogus excuse about protecting other people by restricting MY RIGHTS!

So I adjusted my MAGA hat and threw the winning ball straight to the cheering crowd, even though it was against the rules.

Now I’m banned from the local bowling alley.

Why Trump Doesn’t Deserve Your Vote

White House Lawn

From Margaret and Helen:

GET OFF OUR LAWN

You know why I am mad when I look at that picture? The real reason? It’s not the Hatch Act. It’s not impeachment. It’s not who is leading in the polls and who isn’t. It’s not about blue beating red or red beating blue. I am pissed off because America and Americans deserve better.

America hasn’t solved the pandemic yet and Americans are still dying by the thousands.

America hasn’t opened back up for business yet and Americans are holding on by a thread.

Parents want their kids back in school. Teachers want to feel safe.

Business owners want to return to business as usual. Customers want to shop. God how I just want to go out to dinner and see a movie.

Children want to visit their aging parents in nursing homes. And Grandparents want desperately to hug and kiss our grandchildren one more time.

How dare you. How dare you, Mr. President. We are out here in America doing EVERYTHING we can to NOT get or spread this disease. And some of us are doing it without knowing if we will be able to pay our rent next week.
