Do Not Ignore Them

From Dan Rather:

Dear President Trump,

Their names were Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche and Ricky John Best. One was a recent college graduate. The other was an army veteran and father of four. I wish we would hear you say these names, or even just tweet them. They were brave Americans who died at the hands of someone who, when all the facts are collected, we may have every right to call a terrorist.

Trump’s First Trip Has Been An Embarrassment For U.S.

found online by Raymond

From Ted McLaughlin at jobsanger:

I read the opinion of one pundit that said Donald Trump has actually looked “presidential” on his first foreign trip. That has to be a sick joke. He has praised nations with serious human rights violations (Saudi Arabia, Israel) and berated nations that are the most democratic — calling Germany evil and berating most Nato nations. He also refused to assure Western European NATO nations that the U.S. will live up to its NATO obligations (making many wonder if they still have a solid ally in the U.S.). He was also seen pushing other leaders aside to make sure he was in front for photo opportunities. In short, his first foreign trip has been an embarrassment for the United States.

Is it any wonder that he is not respected in the free world? If you doubt that, consider this editorial from the German newspaper Der Spiegel.

The Keepers!

found online by Raymond

From Max’s Dad:

Back in the 1960’s while I was doing time in Catholic school we were surrounded by nuns, dressed in full nun regalia, who were our teachers, principals and tormentors.

This is why The Keepers on Netflix is so captivating to those of us who lived in that time. A 26 year old nun named Sister Cathy Chesnik was found murdered in Baltimore back in 1969 and the case went cold. Her head was bashed in, her car was found near her apartment, her body had been moved, an abuse victim was allegedly taken to her body as a warning. It’s all here. Except it really is true.

Who killed Sister Cathy?

This Is Your Brain On Con‑servatism

found online by Raymond

From Dave Dubya:

Montana Republican House candidate Greg Gianforte is a thug.

The authoritarian Republican thug was annoyed by the questions from a journalist, and apparently grabbed him by the neck and threw him to the ground.

The extreme Right’s war on journalism is getting violent. Let’s be clear. Journalism-hating thugs with a political agenda are fascists.

An editorial in the Helena Independent Record described the paper as “sick and tired of Gianforte’s incessant attacks on the free press.”

An End to Truly Conservative Government in the U.S.A.!

found online by Raymond

From Jack Jodell at The Saturday Afternoon Post:

COUNTDOWN: As of today, there are still a god-awful 1,330 days left in this horrible administration’s term in office…

Current so-called “conservatives” may disagree, but for all legitimate purposes, conservatism is dead in this country. In its place has arisen a very dangerous, backward-looking force I will call reactionism. Let me explain the difference…
