In a scathing letter sent Sunday, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) alerted FBI Director James Comey that due to his “partisan actions,” he may have broken the Hatch Act, a law that prohibits federal officials from using their official authority to influence an election.

The usual connotation for ‘pervert”, the one that springs to most people’s minds, is always sexual. But it can be applied to any behavior or mindset that seeks to undo a norm by whatever real or imagined means possible.
And, at this stage of the game, I can’t think of one prominent Republican politician who doesn’t fit that description. From Trump to Chaffetz to McCrory to Ryan, each, in his own way, seeks to undermine some article of faith, some sacred trust, some standard by which a society holds that gives it a sense of continuity and value.
