Fondly Remembering Obama – 8/22/2017

Wondering why a few conservative friends are less than impressed.

  1. Wow. President Obama actually lowered himself to viewing a memorial celebrating a slave owner?

We should erase any vestige of Jefferson, Madison, and Washington from our history so as not to offend anyone.

On second thought, never mind. Nobody is taught that history today anyway.

  2. We should erase any vestige of Jefferson, Madison, and Washington from our history so as not to offend anyone.

Yeah, cuz there’s no difference between the confederate slave owners’ war of treason and the founding of the republic. “Violence from many sides, many sides”. See? Both sides are to blame.

This is inspired by our birther White Nationalist savior suggesting race agitating liberals want to tear down founders’ statues. It’s the con-sense and Rage of the Right now, more of that “liberals hate America” spew from the C.R.A.P.

Speaking of history, who will write Trump’s glorious history? Breitbart or FOX? How about Info-wars or WND or National Enquirer?

No matter. After all the historic birtherism they and Trump taught us, we’re sure to get the truth; fair and balanced journalism and unbiased history, from them all, I’m sure.

    1. Yeah, I’m getting kind of old and my memory isn’t what it once was. I go from thinking I’m awesome, to finding my coffee cup in the fridge. Right now, I’m trying to recall when President Obama refused to visit the Jefferson Memorial. I’m drawing a blank.

  3. Burr, I never stated that Obama refused to visit the Jefferson Memorial. Why you have even provided photographic proof that he did visit it, assuming you didn’t photo shop this. 🙂

My point was that he lowered himself to visit a memorial to a slave owner. I wonder what some of his more militant supporters would say about this today?

    1. Thank you for clarifying, T. Paine.

Do I understand correctly that he never indicated in any way that he would consider it beneath him to visit Jefferson? Do you consider it to have been demeaning for him?

  4. I am just following the current attitudes being displayed lately and pointing out absurdity by being absurd, Mr. Deming. 🙂

  5. “He lowered himself to visit a memorial to a slave owner.”

Yes, Obama lowered himself. Yes that is indeed absurd.

Is that what Jefferson was most famous for? Did Obama also tour confederate memorials to those who waged war to preserve slavery?

Would that be the same thing? Yes, that would also be absurd.

“I wonder what some of his more militant supporters would say about this today?”

What “militant” supporters would those be? Contrast, if you please, what they said back then with their “current attitudes”?

Never mind. That was an absurd question on my part.
