The Hypocrisy of the NRA

From Iron Knee at Political Irony:

The National Rifle Association usually doesn’t mince words when defending the right of Americans to arm themselves. But we now have a case where a person, legally licensed to carry a concealed weapon, was stopped by the police for a broken taillight. He informed the officer that he had a firearm. The officer asked him for his driver’s license and he reached for his wallet, and the officer shot and killed him.

Normally, I suspect the NRA would be howling. But this case is different. The dead man is an African American. I guess they believe that the second amendment doesn’t apply to black people.

    1. The same old Blame the “liberal media” (TM) game again. Works every time. Never, ever blame a trigger happy cop.

BTW, there WAS NO TAIL LIGHT OUT!!! He was stopped purely out of racial/racist profiling.

  1. Dave, I will indeed blame that left-wing drive-by media when they are culpable, which happens to be far too often. As for the “trigger happy cop” I do admit that the initial evidence does point to that conclusion. I will reserve complete judgement until both sides are brought to light though. If he was indeed fully culpable, then he should absolutely be punished to the extreme for taking a man’s life needlessly. The facts yet to be seen… let alone reported.

After all, the “gentle giant” Mike Brown was shot in the back with his hands up in Ferguson, Missouri, right? Except for the fact that black witnesses said he tried to take the officer’s gun from him when he was shot. That is the reason why the officer was quickly exonerated, and yet the Obama “just-us department” had to roll into town to take over the racist police department. I guess our wonderful media didn’t always want to report the actual facts for fear of being called “racist” by the racist black lives matter movement.

I am sick of the partisan politics. I am always willing to call out Republicans and conservatives when they are in the wrong. It would be nice if you would be as consistent, Mr. Dubya.

    1. TP,

“the racist black lives matter movement,” is exactly what ALL white racists say. It spreads hate. The far Right media echo chamber repeats the same dishonest smear.

This is where I call you out for being wrong. It’s no different from those saying “Cops are all trigger happy racist thugs”.

You are agreeing with racists by judging a majority by the actions of few. Is that where you want to go?

Did you see the photos of BLM demonstrators in friendly poses with Dallas cops before the shooting? Not one of them was chanting “Kill the cops”.

BLM has condemned the shootings of police officers.

If one can call them all racists by the behavior of a small minority, then the Tea Party Republicans are all racists because of a few posters of Obama with a bone in his nose.

Rational conversation is impossible when these emotionally subjective, blanket judgments are held as fact.

This ill-informed-at-best “racist black lives matter movement” attitude is what divides Americans racially, not the corporate “liberal”media. They just profit from reporting the bloody consequences.

      1. It’s better to blame others, point fingers and name call than to be introspective and consider the merits of different view points.
